January Art Theory Book Club: Catching the Big Fish

I’ve been wanting to put together something like this for a while (if for no other reason than to force myself to read more art theory books), and this seemed like the best time. Let’s read Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity by David Lynch and discuss the weird and interesting ideas therein. The Amazon reviews say it’s a fairly easy read, (and I already owned it), so that seems like a good place to start a book club about art books.

Suggested donation $10, and whatever you want to tip the facilitator.

Discussion facilitated by Rachel Setzer of Setzer Studio Arts

January Open Arts Social

Come join us for a night of community and creativity! Work on your current project or start a new one, while socializing with other artists. Bring your own supplies and snacks, and don’t forget to invite your friends!

The Open Arts Social will be a monthly gathering that isn’t limited to visual arts–feel free to bring your fabric arts, music, jewelry making and any other craft projects.

Date: January 20, 2020
Time: 6:30pm-9:00pm
Location: 1533 NE 145th St (In the qfc shopping center)

This is an all-ages, dry event.

Accessibility notes: the gallery is on a first floor, a curb-step up from the parking lot. The current public space floorplan is open and maneuverable, and the lights are full-spectrum florescent. There are a variety of seating options, including padded seating & seats with back support. There is one restroom (that is slightly too narrow for full wheelchair access) with a grab bar.

Please be conscientious with fragrance and scent.
